As my 25th birthday starts to creep up more and more with each passing day, I can't help but take the time to contemplate the life in which I have been so blessed to be able to live. No, 25 is not old, in fact it is still very young, and I am excited to see what this year as an official "mid 20's" woman is yet to experience. I'm happy to grow a year older, and with that year older, a year wiser. While still honing what wise-ness I have already obtained within the past 25 years, I know that this world is big, and there is still a lot more for me to learn and grasp in the future years to come. With the little I have learned this is what I can share...
1. Family 1st
2. Pray often
3. Sleeping in is a must every now and then
4. Karma is a bitch (for lack of a better word)
5. Your goldfish you won at a carnival just isn't meant to live past 2 weeks.. if you're lucky, maybe longer
6. It sounds cliche.. but smile/laugh as much as possible, it's contagious
7. It's ok to cry. If you're gunna cry, let it ALL out..
8. Dance until you're feet go numb
9. Good friends may drift apart, it's just part of life
10. Your best friends may as well be considered family if they've decided to stick around long enough, even at your worst
11. A person who might have been considered an enemy, may also end up being a very good friend (or nice acquaintance, which ever works)
12. The boy or girl who you first "fell in love" with, never turned out to be who you thought they would be.. and that's ok
13. Crack a joke once in a while, it's good for your soul
14. Music is the best therapy
15. Be careful how you treat people... you never know who they'll grow up to be, or when you may need their help
16. Give lots of hugs, they feel awesome!
17. Not a hug kinda person? Do a hand shake, something, just show some love
18. Candy may give you cavities, but its important to eat a piece or 2 every now and then.. in my case maybe 3 or 4
19. Lay in the sun and do nothing
20. Read a book, like actually read
21. Write out your feelings before an argument or discussion with someone, you'll be surprised what you're really feeling
22. Girls, please don't fight (as in physical, hair pulling, nail scratching)... guys may find it entertaining but do trust, not very classy
23. Guys, I would say the same, but for some reason the male ego seems to always block out that piece of advice
24. Drink and be merry... "be merry" are the key words
25. Do travel when, and if possible
26. Be adventurous and try new foods, your taste buds will thank you
27. Be a person of your word as best as you can
28. Be a hard worker, but be sure to make time to play even harder
29. Save your money, when you can
30. Love with all of your heart
31. Know you are beautiful, no matter what has been told to you
32. Don't lie, be a "hater", or anything else negative that may fall in this category... it's bad for your complexion
33. Have plenty of confidence in yourself, while remaining humble
34. Help out a stranger an rack up those good karma points
35. Yes, fall in love, and fall very hard... it's one of the best falls in life you'll ever feel
36. Eat your fruits and vegetables, take your vitamins, excersice, and drink plenty of water
37. HAVE FUN!
That's all I could think of for now. As I had mentioned earlier, I am still working on each any every one of these items listed everyday. As I grow older, I can't wait to add on to my "list of wise-ness".
Spoken like a true Philosopher..i love what you've learned in life. I've seen it. You're amazing..im lucky to have you as my best friend, mi mejor amiga. Mi hermana:)
